About Me

Katie Orton: ****Bricolage Jewellery**** Individual and unique jewellery salvaged from the kitsch detritus of childhood for the sake of grown-ups who recognise the value of fun in subversion and poetry in sawn-off, spliced, repainted, re aquainted, toys. These sculptures rely as much on craft, crystal studs and gold/silver plating as they do on the arms and legs of batman, the body of a cockroach, the hair of a batz doll or the wings of a Bomber. Brilliant, beautiful and always surprising: Statement pieces for brave women who laugh in the face of the universe.
